The Rozvi people were organized into individual homesteads, with related homesteads making up lineages. The inheritance and name of the Rozvi State was passed through male members. The duties of the lineage head in the Rozvi State was to ensure that ceremonies and offerings were conducted properly.

There was also a sexual division of labor within the Rozvi State. Men were responsible for herding cattle, building houses, making tools, and skinning animals. Women were responsible for looking after children, cooking, gathering firewood and wild fruits.

The Rozvi society was also stratified based on social status. The ruling elite held significant power and wealth, while commoners had less power and fewer resources.

Cattle played an important role in Rozvi society as a form of currency as well as for food, clothing, and other purposes. The Rozvi rulers controlled large herds of cattle which helped to increase their wealth and power.

Overall, the social organization of the Rozvi people was characterized by a patriarchal lineage system with a sexual division of labor and social stratification based on social status.
